Vanderbilt senior center Luke Kornet has been named to the The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Districtâ„¢ for his combined exploits athletically and in the classroom. Kornet, from Lantana, Texas, who was also named to the 2015 and 2016 team, is a Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics major with a 3.71 GPA.
Kornet, from Lantana, Texas, averages 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and is the all-time NCAA leader for made threes by a seven footer. He has scored in double figures in 18 games this season, and is currently second in the SEC in three-point field goal percentage (.456) in league games only. In his career, he is second on VU’s all-time career blocks list and has 999 points heading into this weekend’s game at Missouri.
First-team Academic All-Districtâ„¢ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
