Vanderbilt heads to the SFA Stormin’ Ladyjack Invitational this weekend at Copperfield Lanes in Houston. This is a change from the previously scheduled location – the previous venue was a brand new facility in Conroe, but construction is behind schedule and it isn’t ready for this weekend’s event.

A familiar format: Friday – Five baker matches, starting at 9:30 a.m. (CST) Saturday – Five traditional team matches, starting at 9:25 a.m. Sunday – Three best-of-seven baker bracket matches, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Nine of the top 10 rated teams are in the field. Here are the entries with February NTCA coaches poll rankings: Nebraska (1), Arkansas State (2), McKendree (3), Sam Houston (4), Vanderbilt (5), Stephen F. Austin (7), Delaware State (8), Maryland-Eastern Shore (9), Sacred Heart (10), Monmouth (12), Tulane (13), Wisconsin-Whitewater (13), Long Island-Brooklyn (17), North Carolina A&T (18), Prairie View A&M (19), UAB (21), Youngstown State (24), Jackson State, Grambling, Lincoln Memorial, Louisiana Tech, Maryville and Southern.

NCAA individual statistics were just released: Several Vandy individuals rank very high in official national statistics categories as computed through January 30.

Top 200: Among the nation’s top 200 bowlers meeting the 60% participation requirement, Giselle Poss is second to Arkansas State’s Jordan Richard in traditional average. Richard averages 219.81 with three wins and four top-five finishes. Poss comes in at 218.48 with a win and four top-five finishes. Maria Bulanova is sixth (209.42) and Kristin Quah eighth (207.09).

Scoring average: Bulanova (21.39) and Poss (21.03) rank second and third to Jordan Richard (21.63). Poss is second and Bulanova sixth in traditional game scoring; Bulanova is second and Poss 10th in Baker scoring.

Fill frame percentage: Bulanova is second (88.6) and Poss fifth (87.9) in overall filled frame percentage with Bulanova second and Poss eighth in Baker fills and the two tied for sixth in traditional game fills.

Overall strike percentage: Bulanova is second (55.5), Poss third (55.0) and Quah 13th. Poss leads the nation in strikes in traditional games (61.8) with Bulanova leading the NCAA in Baker game strikes at 56.7%.

10th frame success: Bulanova leads all NCAA anchors in 10th frame scoring at 21.775 and also tops anchor bowlers in 10th frame double percentage at 37.2%.
