Vanderbilt head coach Stephanie White will show her support for Soles4Souls this week by coaching barefoot during Tuesday’s practice and also during the Commodores’ home game against Alabama on Thursday night.
“Soles4Souls is such a wonderful organization, and we are excited about doing our part to promote and assist them,” said White. “My hope is that coaching barefoot will bring awareness to those who don’t have the luxury of wearing shoes every day. We want to encourage everyone to donate and support the Soles4Souls mission.”
Donation boxes for Soles4Souls will be available at Thursday’s 8 p.m. women’s game and again on Saturday when the Vanderbilt men host Iowa State at 3 p.m.
Soles4Souls is a not for profit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.
Since 2006, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed 30 million pairs of new shoes to those in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S.
