Nov. 3, 2016
When the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team plays its regular-season opener against Kennesaw State on Nov. 11, the Commodores will have a special guest in the building: Nashville Mayor Megan Barry.
The game — which will mark the debut for head coach Stephanie White and five Vanderbilt freshmen — will tipoff at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gym.
“We are so excited to host Mayor Barry at our home opener Nov. 11,” said White. “She is a leader and role model in the Nashville Community and we appreciate her enthusiasm and passion for Vanderbilt women’s basketball.”
Barry, who graduated from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt, will be recognized during a brief ceremony before the game, and will be presented with a commemorative game ball.
