NASHVILLE – Don’t be surprised if you see the members of Rascal Flatts wearing Vanderbilt T-shirts at one of their upcoming concerts.
When Vanderbilt first-year head coach Stephanie White attended a meet-and-greet with the band last week, she took the opportunity to promote the Commodore program by giving the country music stars some Vanderbilt gear.
“They were very cool,” said White. “We gave them some swag and of course we hope to see them at a game sometime soon.”
White was able to meet Rascal Flatts during a private benefit for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. White was among a group of about 150 people who attended the event, which included the meet-and-greet and a private concert.
Although White enjoyed the meeting the band, she said her favorite part was being able to provide support for the Children’s Hospital.
“The children’s hospital has a special place in our hearts,” said White. “Everyone who works at VU children’s has been amazing and we’re grateful to have an opportunity to give back to them.”
