After a month off from competition, the Vanderbilt men’s golf team returns to action at the Nike Golf Collegiate October 2-4 in Forth Worth, Texas, at Colonial Country Club. The Commodores, ranked ninth in the latest NGCA Coaches Poll, will be one of 10 teams ranked in the top 25 that will participate at next week’s event.

Vanderbilt will be joined by Arizona, No. 6 Clemson, No. 19 Duke, No. 8 Florida, No. 12 Georgia, Ohio State, No. 11 Oklahoma, Oregon, No. 14 Stanford, TCU, No. 1 Texas, No. 13 USC,, No. 10 Wake Forest, Washington at the tournament. Colonial will be set up as a par-70, 7,209-yard format for the week.

“Nike is a very special part of our program and this is certainly one of the best events we play in all year,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “Colonial Country Club is a great golf course that rewards teams and players that have a plan and stick with it. We are excited to compete and see if we can take a step towards being the team we know we can be.”

The Commodores will send senior Matthias Schwab, junior Theo Humphrey, sophomores Will Gordon and Patrick Martin, and freshman John Augenstein to compete in Fort Worth.

“We have had almost a full month off since the Carmel Cup, which has been really good for our group,” said Limbaugh. “Our focus has been on improving and trying to help this team understand what each individual has to do to improve so this group can be the best it can be. I really enjoy seeing how each team develops as the year progresses and seeing if we take ownership.”

Tee times begin Sunday morning at 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start, with 18 holes being played Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
