Last Time Out
Vanderbilt heads into the weekend after securing its first SEC victory of the 2016-17 season. After a two-hour delay and poor weather conditions, the Commodores came out on top of a double-overtime thriller against the Bulldogs.
Down early, the Commodores’ Nia Dorsey connected to Lydia Simmons who netted the tying goal in the 41st minute. Heading into overtime both teams were evenly matched statistically, but with the memory of their double OT loss to NKU in the backs of their minds the Vandy squad prevailed in the 104th minute.
Danae O’Halloran served up a pass from the top of the attacking third, which found freshman Hannon Eberts. For her clutch game-winning goal, Eberts was named the SEC’s Freshman Player of the Week.
