Former Commodore Brandt Snedeker has qualified for the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MInn., this September 27-October 2 after his finish at The Barclays this weekend at Bethpage Black. Snedeker will join seven other players, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Jimmy Walker, Brooks Koepka, Zach Johnson, and Patrick Reed as the United States’ eight automatic qualifiers. Captain Davis Love III also has four captain’s picks at his disposal for the competition in the fall.

The 2016 Ryder Cup will be Snedeker’s second time at the event representing the United States, with his last appearance coming in 2012 at the Medinah Country Coub in Chicago, Ill.

Snedeker, who tied for 48th at The Barclays, has one tour win this season, which came at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, a second-place finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and a third-place finish at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the recently completed Wyndham Championship. Snedeker also has three other top 10 finishes and eight top 25’s.

Snedeker, Curran move on in FedEx Playoffs
Both Snedeker and Jon Curran have advanced to the next round of the PGA FedEx Playoffs next week at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston after finishing within the top 100 in the FedEx Cup rankings. Snedeker will enter the competition ninth, while Curran will be 60th in the standings.
