Vanderbilt senior golfer Matthias Schwab advanced to the round-of-64 match-play portion of the U.S. Amateur on Tuesday after finishing the two-round stroke-play part of the tournament in a tie for 11th with a two-under par, 138 (69-69) at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Sophomore Will Gordon, who finished with a two-over par, 142 (70-72), in stroke play, will participate in a playoff Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. with 22 others for a spot in the round of 64.

Schwab will play his round of 64 match at 12:40 ET against Brandon Pierce, who plays at LSU.

Gordon, a semifinalist at the Western Amateur earlier this month, will take part in a 23-for-8, sudden-death playoff at Bloomfield Hills Wednesday. If Gordon advances, his round of 64 match will take place in the afternoon.

Junior Theo Humphrey carded a two-round score of three-over par, 143 (68-75), on Monday and Tuesday, missing the cut by one shot.
