Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen has announced his team’s 2015-16 schedule, and once again it is filled with some of the nation’s prestigious tournaments. The Commodores return five letter winners from last year’s team which advanced to NCAA Regional play for the 17th consecutive season.

“I really like our schedule,” said Allen, who’s entering his 10th season with the Commodores. “It’s tough and it will give our girls a challenge every time we play, but that’s what we want. That’s what makes us better. It’s a good mix of some new tournaments and it’s always nice going back to some of our favorites.”

The Commodores will play in four fall tournaments, with their season getting underway September 16-18 at their own Mason Rudolph Championship. This year, the tournament returns to the home of the 2012 NCAA Championship, the North Course, after spending two years on the South. Other tournaments in the fall include a new tournament on the schedule, the Windy City Collegiate Classic in Golf, Illinois, and then two tournaments the Commodores played in a year ago, the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational on October 14-16 in Chapel Hill, N.C., and the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev., on October 23-25. Vanderbilt tied for the team championship in Las Vegas last season.

In the spring, Vanderbilt travels to Puerto Rico on February 12-14 to take part in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The event will be hosted by Purdue University. The Commodores then will head to one of their favorite tournaments, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C., March 3-5, which is followed by a trip to the Clover Cup, a new tournament for the Commodores which will take place March 17-19 in Mesa, Ariz. Vanderbilt will close their regular season at at the Clemson Invitational, which will be played at The Reserve at Lake Keowee March 31-April 2.

The SEC Championship will once again be held at the Greystone Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., with the event scheduled to take place April 21-23. Four regional hosts, New Mexico, Ohio State, Texas Tech, and East Carolina, will host NCAA Regionals May 8-10, with the NCAA Championship taking place May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
