Nashville, Tenn. – Vanderbilt outfielders Jeren Kendall and Bryan Reynolds have been named third team All-Americans by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Kendall enjoyed a breakout sophomore season hitting .332 with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 59 RBI. The Holmen, Wisc. native matched the school record with eight triples during the season. He opened the year with a bang, earning National Player of the Week after going 10-for-15 with three home runs and 10 RBI during the first three games of the season. His 28 steals led the Southeastern Conference and were the most by a Commodore since Tony Kemp in 2013. Kendall is set to join USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team this summer along with teammate Kyle Wright.
Reynolds racked up 74 hits during his junior year hitting .330 with a team-high 13 home runs and 57 RBI. The outfielder from Brentwood, Tenn. finished his Vandy career with the ninth-most hits in school history in just three seasons with 260 hits. He played in every game during his tenure at VU, starting 204 of his 206 games. He was a second round selection (59th overall) of the San Francisco Giants last week in the major league baseball draft.
The Commodores have now had multiple All-Americans in four straight seasons dating back to 2013.
