The Vanderbilt women’s golf team heads to Birmingham, Ala. this Friday through Sunday for the SEC Championship at the par-72, 6,278-yard Greystone Golf and Country Club to begin postseason play for the 2015-16 season. The field will feature all 14 schools in the SEC, which includes six teams ranked in the latest top 25 rankings, and four in the top 10.
The Commodores are searching for their third SEC Championship title, with the two victories coming in 2014 and 2004. The Commodores also won medalist honors in both of those seasons, with Simin Feng winning the individual title in 2014 and May Wood in 2004.
This season, the Commodores will send senior Jennifer Hahn, junior Kate Sborov, sophomores Alexandra Farnsworth and Cindy Ha, and freshman Courtney Zeng.
“We’re excited about the opportunity before us this weekend,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “The SEC has once again proven to be one of the strongest conferences in women’s golf with 4 teams ranked in the top 10. I like the way we’ve been playing and practicing the last few weeks and look forward to seeing how we preform.
Vanderbilt will tee off with Texas A&M and Missouri on Friday morning at 8 a.m. CT.

Vanderbilt claims Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown
The Commodore women’s golf team won their only team title of the 2015-16 campaign at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown after finishing the tournament with a 33-under par, 831 total (280-275-276), which tied host UNLV for the team championship at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. Rounds in the 60’s
Vanderbilt has had 17 rounds in the 60’s this season, with Sborov’s 66 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown being the lowest round of the year.
