The number-15 ranked Vanderbilt Commodore men’s golf team heads to Statesboro, Ga., this weekend for the 37th Annual Schenkel Invitational in a field that features five teams ranked in the nation’s top 25. Vanderbilt will begin the event with a 9:30 a.m. tee time off of the number one tee at the Forest Heights Country Club.
Vanderbilt, who will be joined by UAB, Auburn, Boston College, College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Harvard, Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina, N.C. State, North Florida, and Wake Forest, will send senior Carson Jacobs, junior Matthias Schwab, sophomore Theo Humphrey, and freshmen Patrick Martin and Will Gordon to compete in the tournament. Redshirt sophomore Michael Decker will also play as an individual this weekend.
“We always enjoy this golf tournament because of the hospitality and the tradition of the event,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “The guys are excited about the week and about taking another good step towards being the team we know we can be. I want us to embrace the journey, have some fun, and play Vanderbilt golf.”
