TUCSON, AZ—Vanderbilt’s women’s golf team was 12-over par Tuesday and closed the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in ninth place.

The Commodores were 26-over for the 54 holes, just seven shots out of fourth but well behind the host Wildcats exceptional seven-under par total of 857. Arizona shot six-under over the final round.

Sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth led the Commodores, finishing in a tie for 13th place after rounds of 71-72-75 on the par 72 layout.

Vandy’s best round of the day came from junior Kate Sborov, who fashioned a one-over 73 and earned a Top 20 finish with her three day worksheet of 73-74-73. Senior Jennifer Hahn and freshman Courtney Zeng counted with a pair of 75’s while sophomore Cindy Ha struggled to an uncharacteristic 82.

Arizona’s Krystal Quinhuis had rounds of 68-71-70, seven-under par, to earn medalist honors by one shot.

The season continues with the Clemson Invitational April 1-3.
