NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt lacrosse team continues its spring break road tour, taking on the Denver Pioneers Wednesday, March 9th, at 3:00 pm.
The Commodores heads into Wednesday’s midweek matchup 3-2 after suffering a hard 17-10 loss Sunday afternoon to the 13th – ranked Stanford Cardinal. Three Commodores secured hat tricks in the ‘Dores loss, with Emma Dagres recording a career-high three goals on eight shots. Callahan Kent made career-high 14 stops for the Dores in the cage, with 46 made so far this season.
Kelly Chandler leads the Commodores in goals with 14 and 15 points this season, while Dagres and Jill Doherty both have a team-high five goals apiece.
Denver currently owns a 2-3 record this season, and 0-2 at home in the Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Commodores will need to watch out for the Pioneer’s Christa Reese who leads DU with 13 points on the season, including a team-high 12 goals.
Like the ‘Dores, one of Denver’s losses on the year came from Louisville where the Cardinals won at home; 14-3. DU’s additional losses came against conference opponent Colorado, 11-10, and James Madison, 9-7.
