After a second-place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational last weekend, the Commodores travel to Los Cabos, Mexico, this Sunday through Tuesday to take on a terrific field at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. The teams will play the 54-hole event at the par-72, 6,928-yard Los Cabos Querencia.
The No. 15 Commodores will compete with #2 Wake Forest, #3 Florida State, #7 Stanford, #11 Georgia, #14 California, #18 LSU, #28 Arkansas, #29 Washington, #30 USF, #31 Houston, #34 Baylor, Ole Miss, Oregon State, and Rice.
“The QCC is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “It’s a championship golf course with a championship field. The hospitality there is second to none and they really make this a special week for all of us. We can’t wait to get there and I am excited to watch this group compete.”
Vanderbilt will send senior Carson Jacobs, junior Matthias Schwab, sophomore Theo Humphrey, and freshmen Will Gordon and Patrick Martin to compete this weekend.
“As the season continues, we want our guys to embrace the journey and this opportunity we have this week,” said Limbaugh. “We know that college golf is all about how you progress through the season. It moves fast and we have to make sure we are doing all the little things necessary to be the best team we can be.”
