Hall of Fame Dinner Reset Sept. 2

Feb. 25, 2016

Vanderbilt’s Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, originally scheduled for January 22 but postponed by a winter snowstorm, has been rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 2, one day after the Commodores’ opening football game.

The dinner, which will induct and honor nine new members to the school’s Hall of Fame, will be held at the Student Life Center. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. with the induction dinner and program following at 7 p.m.

“Postponing the event was the only option at the time,” said Associate Athletic Director Rod Williamson, “and that was unfortunate because we were poised to have a capacity crowd and all living inductees in attendance. Rescheduling has been difficult as we tried to identify spring dates that worked and finally realized we needed to fall back to September.”

The 2015 Hall of Fame class includes Marina Alex (golf), Cathy Bender (basketball) Jay Cutler (football), Jeff Fosnes (basketball), Charley Horton (football), David Price (baseball), Larry Schmittou (baseball), Aleke Tsoubanos (tennis) and Stella Vaughn (trail-blazing administrator).

The Hall of Fame Dinner had been sold out and those tickets will be honored September 2.
