Mason, three student-athletes preview start of Spring Ball

Feb. 19, 2016

Vanderbilt Head Coach Derek Mason, offensive lineman Andrew Jelks, safety Oren Burks and running back Ralph Webb provided their Spring Practice expectations to local media outlets Friday.

Mason is expected to welcome more than 70 Commodore student-athletes, including 25 players who started multiple games last year, when spring drills get under way Monday morning.

Starting Feb. 22, the Commodores will hold 15 practices, working their way toward the concluding Black and Gold Spring Game, which is scheduled for Friday night, March 25.

The team’s Monday and Wednesday practices throughout Spring Ball will be open to Commodore supporters. Each of those practices will start about 7 a.m., and will held in the team’s indoor facility adjoining the Vanderbilt Recreation Center. On-campus parking is limited, with metered spaces on Children’s Way and Jess Neely Drive. Pay parking also is available in 25th Avenue Garage via the Highland Avenue entrance.
