Jan. 29, 2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The top-ranked Commodores welcome No. 8 Stanford to Nashville this weekend for an ITA Top-10 showdown on Saturday at 11:00 am.

Vanderbilt comes off two wins during last weekend’s ITA Kickoff Weekend, which sealed the squad a spot in their fourth consecutive ITA National Indoor Championships.

Last Saturday, Vandy swept Denver 4-0 with freshman Fernanda Contreras clinching the victory. On Sunday the `Dores took on their first ranked team, taking down No. 55 Brown in another 4-0 sweep.

For her clinch, 15-2 record and nine-match win streak, Contreras was named this week’s SEC Freshman of the Week.

So far this season Commodores have not dropped the doubles point, or a single set.
