The Vanderbilt women’s basketball returned from New York on Thursday with a new trophy for their case and plenty of lifelong memories.
During their four-day stay, the Commodores won the Fordham Holiday Classic by defeating host Fordham, 53-40, in the championship game on Wednesday after downing New Mexico State 71-45 in the opening round on Tuesday. Rebekah Dahlman was named the tournament MVP and Marqu’es Webb was named to the All-Tournament team. With the two victories, the Commodores extended their winning streak to 10 games.
The Vanderbilt players also did plenty of sightseeing during their trip, including taking in a Broadway Show — The Lion King — and visiting the The National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
