The #21/16 Commodores return home to Memorial Gym on Wednesday night to take on the Dayton Flyers from the Atlantic 10 Conference in an 8 p.m. CT tip off. The game will be televised on ESPNU, and all of the action can also be heard on the Vanderbilt IMG Sports Radio Network.

Vanderbilt is looking to rebound after their second loss of the season Sunday night to Baylor in Waco, Texas, a 69-67 decision to the Bears in their first true road game of the season. Wade Baldwin IV led the Commodores with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, his fourth consecutive game in double figures and his sixth of the season. He also added four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Matthew Fisher-Davis also scored in double figures with 11 points. Fisher-Davis is 7-13 from three in his last two games. The Commodores outshot Baylor, 46.8% to 40.0% from the floor, 47.6% to 45.5% from three, and 76.5% to 60% at the free throw line. Sunday marked the first game this season VU has lost after out shooting an opponent.

Baylor had 20 offensive rebounds to only nine for Vanderbilt, and outscored VU, 19-7, on second-chance points. The Bears had 18 more shot attempts than VU (65-47). Vanderbilt also committed a season-high 17 turnovers, and Baylor outscored the Commodores, 24-10, in points off of turnovers.

The Commodores lead the SEC in scoring margin (+22.8), field goal percentage defense (.346), and three-point field goal percentage defense (.291), and are second in scoring defense (60.6), field goal percentage (.493), three-point field goal percentage (.403), threes made (8.9), and blocks (6.6). Riley LaChance leads the conference in assist to turnover ratio at 4.1, and Luke Kornet leads the league in blocks (2.8). Wade Baldwin is fourth in free throw percentage (.857) and tied for seventh in field goal percentage (.554), and Damian Jones is seventh in blocks (1.9).

Vanderbilt has made a 3-pointer in 939 consecutive games, a streak which began at the inception of the 3-point line in 1986-87. The Commodores rank second only to UNLV for the longest streak in Division I basketball. Vanderbilt, UNLV and Princeton are the only three schools in college basketball to have made at least one 3-pointer in every game played since the 3-point line was implemented.
