The Vanderbilt women haven’t had much time to celebrate after winning the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament. The Commodores — who captured the tourney championship on Saturday by beating Ohio in the finals — are back in action on Monday, hosting Air Force at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network. Vanderbilt (4-2) will carry a three-game winning streak — and a 4-0 home record — into the contest. Air Force, meanwhile, is off to a tough start, having lost its first five games. The early-season struggles are the continuation of a difficult stretch for the Falcons, who have dropped 61 of their past 64 games since the start of the 2013-14 season, and own a record of 13-111 since the start of the 2011-12 campaign. Here’s a closer look at Monday’s game:

l The skinny on the Commodores: Vanderbilt comes into Monday’s game on the heels of a productive week that saw the Commodores post a 3-0 record, including a win over Presbyterian on Monday, followed by victories over Austin Peay and Ohio in the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament. Junior forward Marqu’es Webb was named the tournament’s MVP after averaging 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in the two contests. Webb had 19 points and 10 rebounds in VU’s 62-59 win over Ohio in the championship game. … Vanderbilt senior guard Jasmine Jenkins is leading the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game, and Rayte’a Long, a senior post player, is the Commodores’ top rebounder at 5.3 per game. Long earned her first career start against Austin Peay last Friday. … Minta Spears has already compiled 33 assists this season, including producing a 14-assist, zero-turnover stat line against Austin Peay.

l Homecourt advantage indeed: Vanderbilt continues to pile up some gaudy numbers against non-conference foes at Memorial Gym. With their 4-0 start at home this season, the Commodores have now gone 41-2 against non-conference foes on their home floor during the regular season since the start of the 2010-11 campaign. (The lone losses came to Marquette in 2013-14 and against Dayton last season). Dating back to the arrival of head coach Melanie Balcomb prior to to the 2002-03 season, the Commodores own a 91-8 record on their home floor in regular-season, non-conference games. They have gone 10-1 against non-conference opponents at Memorial Gym since the start of the 2014-15 season.

l Scouting Air Force: The winless Falcons (0-5) are struggling on the offensive end, averaging just 40.2 points per game while shooting only 30 percent from the floor, including 18 percent from 3-point range (12-of-64) … Air Force’s defense is limiting its opponents to 28 percent shooting from 3-point range, and surrendering only 3.0 three-pointers per game. … The Falcons’ top scorer is Cortney Porter, a 5-9 sophomore guard, who is averaging 10.6 points per game. She also leads the team in assist (3.0 per game) and steals (2.0 per game). … Dee Bennett, a 6-0 sophomore post player, leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 per game.

l Sizing up the Series: Monday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between the Commodores and Falcons, which continues a trend for Vanderbilt. The Commodores faced two first-time opponents last week — Presbyterian and Ohio — and will face another, Drexel, later this week.

l Update on the Falcons: Through the first five games of the season, the Falcons have been outscored by an average of 28 points per game. … Four of Air Force’s first five games have come on the road, and the Falcons have lost those games by margins of 53, 21, 34 and 26 points.

l VU’s most recent game: Buoyed by the play of Marqu’es Webb and a last-second defensive stop, the Commodores downed Ohio, 62-59, in the championship game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gym. Ohio (3-2) missed a pair of potential game-tying 3-pointers on its final possession — including one at the buzzer — and the Commodores (4-2) escaped with the victory to improve their all-time VTT record to 30-0. Webb, who was named the tournament’s MVP, finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by Minta Spears, who scored a season-high 11 points, including a layup with 19 seconds remaining that gave Vanderbilt a three-point cushion. Vanderbilt’s Christa Reed finished in double figures with 10 points, and Rebekah Dahlman added eight points and five rebounds.
