Vanderbilt meets Houston in the final nonconference tilt of the season for both teams at 6 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2.
The Commodores are making their first trip to Texas since playing at Texas A&M in 2013. It is the program’s first nonconference game in the Lone Star State since defeating Rice, 36-17, in 2009.
Vanderbilt departed Nashville International Airport at 1:45 p.m. CT Friday, arriving at Houston Hobby a little after 3:30 p.m. After unloading the plane and loading the busses, the Commodores arrived at the team hotel by 4:45 p.m., thanks to a police escort.
The rest of the day was spent between a team dinner, group meetings and relaxing on rooms. With a late game Saturday, the wake-up call is not until 9:30 a.m.
