Pregame Notes
– Vanderbilt is in its 126th year of organized football.
– The Commodores wore black helmets and pants with white jerseys on Saturday, marking the third time this season the team has worn black helmets.
-South Carolina won the toss and deferred to the second half, Vanderbilt elected to receive and defend the south goal.
– Attendance was 75,159 in Williams-Brice Stadium
– Vanderbilt captains for the game were QB Johnny McCrary, ILB Zach Cunningham and PK/K Tommy Openshaw
Team Notes
– Vanderbilt played South Carolina for the 25th time on Saturday and is now 4-21 in the all-time series.
– With the loss the Commodores fall to 2-4 overall, and 0-2 in league play.
Individual Notes
– ILB Zach Cunningham opened the contest recording his second career sac following the Commodore’s first quarter fumble
– With three early receptions in 1st quarter, Darrius Sims marked a single-game high for the junior
– Freshman, TE Sam Dobbs, with his first game appearance; 10th true freshman to play this year, and 21st to see collegiate action this season.
– Caleb Scott’s second quarter touchdown was the first career TD for the sophomore Commodore
– Adam Butler tied career-high in sacs at one late in the second half.
– Darrius Sims with a career-long rush of 29 yards in the first half, only to be topped by a 41-yard run early in the 3rd quarter (second-longest VU run in two years).

Offensive Notes
– Dores escaped the first quarter with three fumbles in 18 plays.
– Dores on the board with a four-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Scott.
