Dore Jam, Vanderbilt’s annual Fan Day activity, will be held Sunday, August 16. It will be held in the program’s on-campus indoor multipurpose facility for the second consecutive year.
Vanderbilt’s official fan day experience, which annually attracts thousands of Commodore fans to campus for an afternoon of autographs, photographs and family fun, is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Vanderbilt’s entire football roster will join second-year Head Coach Derek Mason and the Commodore coaching staff at Dore Jam, offering fans a chance to greet their favorite student-athletes, and get autographs from both players and coaches.
The event also features inflatable activities and interactive games for kids, along with free hot dogs and drinks while supplies last.
“Dore Jam is always one of the most fun activities on our calendar, and we plan on more of the same Aug. 16,” Vanderbilt Senior Associate Athletics Director/Director of Sales and Marketing Steve Walsh said. “We hope to have a packed crowd of Commodore fans come out to get autographs and say hello to the players and coaches.”
Until last year, the popular Dore Jam has been staged outdoors at the team’s practice fields. Moving Dore Jam indoors, to an on-campus facility that opened in November 2013, was a big hit with fans.
“The response was overwhelmingly positive,” Walsh said. “The venue is perfect for this event, both climate-controlled and spacious enough for young Commodore fans to have plenty of fun.”
Other Commodore varsity sports, including the women’s soccer team under first-year Head Coach Darren Ambrose, will participate in Dore Jam.
New football posters designed for the event will be distributed free of charge at the entrance of Dore Jam.
Free parking for the event is available in the Vanderbilt Medical Center surface lots located across Natchez Trace from the Vanderbilt Track & Field Complex.
Vanderbilt opens the 2015 season playing host to Western Kentucky on Thursday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT. It is the first of six games on the Commodores’ home schedule.
