Next Thursday, June 25 is Sports Safety Day at the Adventure Science Center, and Vanderbilt athletics will be on hand to help you protect yourself while enjoying all that athletics has to offer. This event is a must for every kid who plays sports, every coach who runs a practice and every parent who has active children.
The event will include:
- Panel discussion by Vanderbilt team physician Dr. Alex Diamond and athletic trainer Mollie Malone on a range of sports-related safety precautions.
- Learn about brain injuries and how you can prevent them.
- Explore the anatomy, composition and function of bones while learning how to protect them.
- Take a look at the circulatory system and cardiac muscle of a real sheep heart.
- Hear from Vanderbilt coaches and staff about finding a balance between sports, academics and life.
- Examine how we condition our bodies to compete, including muscular strengthening, nutrition and hydration.

Special Discount Available to Vanderbilt Fans
Wear Commodore gear to the Adventure Science Center on June 25 and receive discounted admission. Adults are eligible to receive a $13 adult/teen general admission ticket and one half-priced youth ticket. Youth tickets are for children 2-12 years old, and the discounted rate is $5.50. This offer will continue from Sports Safety Day on June 25 through Tuesday, June 30.
