NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Southeastern Conference’s only two women’s lacrosse teams will get the chance to spotlight the sport in front of a national audience.

SEC Network + will broadcast Vanderbilt’s home tilt against No. 6 Florida at noon on Sunday at the VU Lacrosse Complex. The game can be watched online at secnetwork.com. Max Herz and former Commodore standout Abby Wheeler will be on the call.

The Commodores and Gators have been conference lacrosse rivals since 2010, when Florida added the sport and joined the American Lacrosse Conference. The ALC dissolved after last season and both schools became affiliate members of the BIG EAST Conference. They’ll both play their first BIG EAST game on Sunday.

Herz, a sophomore at Vanderbilt, will handle the play-by-play duties. The Pittsburgh native has broadcast a variety of sports for SEC Network +, including soccer, women’s basketball and baseball. Herz also hosts a sports talk show on Vandy Radio, the student radio station, and is a writer for the Vanderbilt student newspaper, The Hustler.

Wheeler graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in Human and Organizational Development last May after a stellar four-year career. The former attacker from Charlottesville, Va., finished her career with 84 goals and earned All-American Lacrosse Conference honors her senior year. She scored the second-most goals in a single game in program history when she netted seven in an upset of No. 13 Stanford, including two in the final 35 seconds of overtime.
