The fifth-ranked Vanderbilt men’s golf team are back at it this weekend at one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious college golf tournaments in Statesboro, Ga., at the Schenkel Invitational. The Commodores will tee it up Friday through Sunday at the Forest Heights Country Club, which will be set up as a par 72, 6,962-yard format.
The Commodores will compete against Auburn, Wake Forest, North Florida, Florida, UAB, Louisville, Iowa, N.C. State, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Kentucky, UCF, College of Charleston, and host Georgia Southern in this week’s event.
“We are really looking forward to competing again this week,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “It is a quick turnaround, but in my opinion, it comes at a good time for our team. I told the guys after the final round in Naples that we need to continue to try to be the best version of “us” each time we tee it up. This tournament will give us another opportunity to be that. Each round serves as a building block to where we are trying to go.”
Vanderbilt will send seniors Hunter Stewart and Ben Fogler, junior Carson Jacobs, sophomore Matthias Schwab, and freshman Theo Humphrey. Sophomore Zach Herr will compete as an individual.
