Just two days after returning from spring break, the Vanderbilt soccer team were faced with a tough wake-up call — literally.
At 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, the Commodores thought they were meeting at the Multipurpose Facility for an early morning practice. Instead, they walked in to see several officers and staff non-commissioned officers from the Vanderbilt University NROTC unit. Over the next 90 minutes, the team was put through a grueling mini-boot camp led by Staff Sgt. Rene Camarillo and Capt. David Wood. The officers challenged the Commodores to work as a team to push through the intense drills.
