Vanderbilt went 2-2 during the week beating Evansville and No. 4 UCLA before dropping games at USC and to No. 6 TCU inside Dodger Stadium at the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic… Vandy opened the week with the team’s third extra inning win of the year, a 9-8 victory over Evansville in 12 innings on Tuesday… Ro Coleman scored the winning run on a wild pitch after Penn Murfee’s first career home run in the bottom of the ninth forced extra innings… Jordan Sheffield earned the win with a career-best five innings of work out of the pen striking out a career-high seven… Rhett Wiseman reached base in all seven of his plate appearances, going 4-for-4 with three walks… Walker Buehler made his season debut with two no-hit innings… The Commodores shut out No. 4 UCLA 6-0 on Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium behind Carson Fulmer and Philip Pfeifer… The duo combined for their second shutout of the season with Fulmer working a season-high 6.1 innings and Pfeifer finishing off the final 2.2. innings… Fulmer punched out nine and now has 20 strikeouts over his last two starts (12.1 IP)… Karl Ellison paced the VU offense with a career-best three hits… USC dropped the Dores with a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth on Saturday 6-5 at Dedeaux Field… Ben Bowden gave up the long ball to take his first career loss… Freshman Kyle Wright was strong out of the bullpen with 3.1 scoreless innings… Tyler Campbell collected career-highs with three hits and two stolen bases with Zander Wiel adding three hits of his own… No. 6 TCU held off Vandy on Sunday 4-2 in the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic… Philip Pfeifer took the loss giving up three runs over the final five innings with a season-best seven strikeouts… Walker Buehler started and allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts in four innings… Rhett Wiseman again led the offense with three hits in the loss… The Commodores return home to host five games this week beginning with a two-game series against Quinnipiac on Tuesday… The Dores and Bobcats play Tuesday and Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network+… Beginning with Tuesday’s broadcast, Vanderbilt’s SEC Network+ games will be fully produced with Kevin Ingram and former Commodore Andrew Harris calling the action… Vanderbilt opens SEC play on Friday at Hawkins Field with the Arkansas Razorbacks making their first trip to Nashville since 2010.
