Game Notes
-Vanderbilt fell to 11-8 on the season and 1-5 in SEC play with the loss. The Commodores have dropped five consecutive SEC games.
-Vanderbilt used its fifth starting lineup this season – Damian Jones, Josh Henderson, Wade Baldwin IV, Matthew Fisher-Davis, Riley LaChance. It was Henderson’s first start of the season and 25th of his career, while Fisher-Davis made his first career start.
-The overtime game with the Tigers was the second of the season – Vanderbilt is 1-1 in overtime this season.
-LSU has won four consecutive games in the series – Saturday’s meeting is the only meeting between the two teams this season.
-Vanderbilt shot 42.9% from the floor, while the Tigers converted on 46.9% of their shots. The Commodores are now 0-5 on the year when opponents have a better shooting percentage.
-LSU out rebounded the Commodores, 42-36, including 18-12 on the offensive glass. LSU outscored Vanderbilt, 19-13, in second-chance points.
-Vanderbilt had 18 assists on 27 made baskets.
-Jarrell Martin and Jordan Mickey each had a double-double for LSU, marking the first time since 11/23/2009 against Cincinnati at the Maui Invitational.
Player Notes
-Freshman Wade Baldwin IV had a career-high 18 points. Baldwin was 5-7 from the floor and made a career-high four made threes (4-4). He was also 4-4 from the line, and added four assists and two steals.
-Entering the game, Baldwin was 2-15 from three in league play.
-Sophomore Luke Kornet scored 22 points, his second 20+ point game of his career. It was also a career-high points total in a SEC game. Kornet also added six rebounds.
-Sophomore Damian Jones scored 13 points and had six rebounds, two blocks, and three steals. It was Jones’ 18th game in double figures this season.
-Riley LaChance scored eight points, ending a streak of seven straight games in double figures. He did add six rebounds and tied a career high with six assists.
