Commodores to Pennsylvania: Vanderbilt travels to Reading, Pa., for the Kutztown Invitational, which begins Friday afternoon and concludes Sunday at the Hiester Lanes.

Format: Friday has six, 5-game Baker matches that start at 11:00 ET. Saturday’s six traditional team games begin at 9:25 a.m. and Sunday’s championship bracket is three rounds of best four of seven Bakers, starting at 8:25 a.m.

Following the tournament: Vanderbilt plans to use USTREAM each game. @VandyBowling will also post timely tweets. Additionally, Kutztown has a featured pair live stream on bowl.com and will make every effort to get all 28 teams shown at least once during the first two days.

Traveling ‘Dores: Natalie Goodman, Rebeca Reguero, Tori Ferris, Robyn Renslow, Amanda Fry, Giselle Poss and Katie Stark.

Mosesso Out: Senior Nicole Mosesso is being withheld this week as a precaution for some minor back spasms that she experienced early in the week.

‘Dores in Movieland: Coach John Williamson scraped practice one day to take the entire team to the popular movie “Unbroken”. While the trip to the theatre offered a change of pace, it was also intended to illustrate the virtues of mental and physical toughness, positive thinking and teamwork that made the Unbroken book a long-time best seller.

Participating teams: Adelphi, Arkansas State, Bethune Cookman, Central Missouri, Cheyney, Coppin State, Delaware State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Kutztown, Long Island, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Medialle, Monmouth, Morgan State, Mount Aloysius, North Carolina A&T, Pitt-Bradford, Penn State-Altoona, North Carolina Central, Norfolk State, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (Pa), Saint Francis (NY), Stephen F. Austin, UAB, Valparaiso, Vanderbilt, Whitewater.

Snow in Reading: There are some predictions that the Reading area will get 3-6 inches of snow Saturday. While many bowlers are winter warriors, freshman Katie Stark, an Orlando native, might see her first meaningful snowfall.

Recent history at Kutztown: Vanderbilt has competed in this event for many years. Recently it has provided a good bounce-back from slow starts at the Mid-Winter Classic; last year Vandy was third with Natalie Goodman making the all-tournament team. Two years ago the ‘Dores were second after splitting games with UMES on the last day and in 2012 VU was fourth.
