Basketball season officially arrives this week. The men’s and women’s basketball teams open exhibition play in what will be a jam-packed week of home events.
Vanderbilt’s football team hosts Florida on Saturday and the men’s tennis and swimming teams will also be competing at home this weekend.
Men’s basketball gets the week’s events started with a 7 p.m. tip Thursday against Illinois-Springfield at Memorial Gym. (Game Preview)
On Friday, Vanderbilt’s men’s tennis team opens play in the three-day Commodore Scramble at the Currey Tennis Center. Admission is free.
Saturday will be a quadruple header of home events with swimming, women’s basketball, football and men’s tennis taking place.
Swimming returns to the pool at 11 a.m. Saturday to face Tulane and Western Kentucky at Centennial Sportsplex.
Men’s tennis will continue play in the Commodore Scramble Saturday and Sunday.
A noon, the women’s basketball hosts Coker in its only exhibition game. Fans attending the women’s basketball game can get in for free by showing their ticket to the football game against Florida, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
