Pregame Notes
• Vanderbilt is in its 125th year of organized football.
• The Commodores wore white helmets and pants with gold jerseys, marking the first time since the Watson Brown era in the early 1990s.
• Ole Miss won the toss and elected to receive the ball in the first half.
• Attendance was 43,260.
• Vanderbilt captains for the game were Andrew East, Joe Townsend, Kyle Woestmann and Ralph Webb.
• The game marked the first regular season game at LP Field for the Commodores since 2002.
Team Notes
• Vanderbilt played 25 freshmen in the game with five new freshmen seeing action in Delando Crooks, Jalen Banks, Tommy Openshaw, Trent Sherfield and Emmanuel Smith.
• Through two games Vanderbilt has played 10 true freshmen with Sherfield and Smith seeing action on Saturday.
• Vanderbilt falls to 0-2 to start the season for the first time since 2012.
• The Commodores are now 38-49-2 all time vs. Ole Miss.

• Stephen Rivers made his first career start, getting the nod at QB in his second game for the Commodores.
• Paris Head made his 2014 debut, starting at CB for the Dores.

• Trent Sherfield made his collegiate debut in the second quarter on a kickoff return.
• Kris Kentera caught his first pass of the season hauling in a 13-yard pass for a first down in the second quarter.
• Caleb Azubike matched his career-best with his second sack of the game to end the first half.
• Vince Taylor recorded his first sack of the season in the third quarter.
• Ralph Webb ran for 28 yards in the fourth quarter to set a new career-high and the longest run of the season for the Commodores.
• Zach Cunningham forced his first career fumble in the fourth quarter with Vince Taylor scooping up the fumble.
• Tommy Openshaw made his collegiate debut in the fourth quarter, kicking a 26-yard field goal.
• Jahmel McIntosh led the Commodores with a career-best eight tackles, including six solo stops.
• Darreon Herring made a season-best eight tackles in the game, his highest output since a nine tackle game vs. Texas A&M last season.
• Kyle Woestmann made a career-high eight tackles in the game surpassing his seven tackle effort against Ole Miss last season.
• Oren Burks made seven tackles in the game and now has 13 tackles in his first two collegiate games.
• Nigel Bowden made a career-best seven tackles.
Offensive Notes
• For the second straight week Ralph Webb led the Commodores in rushing, racking up a career-best 95 yards on a career-best 18 carries.
• Steven Scheu matched his career-high with three catches and now has six in two games after catching nine passes all of last year.
• Stephen Rivers played the entire game for Vanderbilt going 6-for-25 for 60 yards.
Defensive Notes
• Freshmen Tre Bell and Nigel Bowden led the Dores at the half with five tackles each.
• Zach Cunningham forced his first career fumble in the fourth quarter with Vince Taylor scooping up the fumble.
• Jahmel McIntosh led the Commodores with a career-best eight tackles, including six solo stops.
• The defense came up with eight tackles for loss led by Caleb Azubike’s two sacks.
Special Teams Notes
• Tommy Openshaw kicked the first field goal of the season for the Commodores and the first of his career with a 26-yard boot in the fourth quarter.
• Colby Cooke punted seven times for an average of 47.6 yards with a long of 55 yards, including one inside the 20-yard line.
• C.J. Duncan returned four kicks for 69 yards.
