POSITIVE ENERGY
It’s been an amazing two-week stretch for the Commodores, who’ve been continuously collecting victories, awards and national attention.

Riding a four-game SEC winning streak that has included wins over then-No. 8/8 Tennessee and then-No. 14/14, the Commodores earned a No. 16 ranking in the AP poll that was released Monday.

Vanderbilt, which has posted a 13-1 record since Nov. 24, is off to a 5-1 start in conference play.

Individually, Christina Foggie continues to lead the SEC scoring, and Jasmine Lister has racked up several national awards, including being named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week on Monday. Last week, she was named the Player of the Week by espnW, the USBWA and the SEC.

UP NEXT: SOUTH CAROLINA (Sun., Jan. 26)
The Commodores don’t have a mid-week game this week, which means they will have extra time to prepare for their next challenge — and it’s a big one.

Vanderbilt will host No. 10 South Carolina on Sunday in a showdown of SEC top-tier teams.

The Commodores will be looking to atone for their lone SEC loss — a 76-66 setback to South Carolina on Jan. 5 in Columbia.

WE BACK PAT
The Vanderbilt program will help promote the “We Back Pat” initiative during Sunday’s game against South Carolina.

“We Back Pat” is a week-long national campaign that helps raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease and is named in honor of Tennessee coaching legend Pat Summit. This year’s celebration began last Sunday and ends on the 26th.

Vanderbilt fans are encouraged to wear purple to Sunday’s game to show their support, and purple ribbons will be given to those in attendance at Memorial Gym.

Throughout the week, SEC member institutions have offered support of The Pat Summitt Foundation during home basketball games. At every SEC women’s basketball game – 19 games in 13 cities – a variety of efforts including promotional public address announcements and video endorsements have helped to increase awareness of the foundation and its mission.

ADDITIONAL PROMOTIONS
Before the game, fans can visit the Kid Zone — a designated play area for children that includes inflatables, cotton candy, face tattoos and more.

Fans can also look for the T-shirt toss, gold shaker give-away and can get their Frequent-Fan card punched. After the game, the Vanderbilt players will thrown miniature basketballs into the stands.
