The Commodores hit the road for the last time of the non conference season in a road tilt at the University of Texas as a part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. CT, and the action can be seen live on ESPN2 and heard on the Vanderbilt IMG College Radio Network in middle Tennessee and online at vucommodores.com.
The meeting will be the seventh in the all-time series with the Longhorns, with the Commodores holding a 4-2 all-time advantage in the series. Vanderbilt will make their first ever trip to Austin, with the previous meetings taking place in Nashville (three meetings) or on neutral floors (three meetings).
The Commodores finished the 2013 ezyBonds USVI Paradise Jam with a 2-1 record in their last time out, with wins over Morgan State and Loyola Marymount and a loss to Providence. Senior guard Kyle Fuller was the team’s leading scorer at the tournament, averaging 14.0 points per game, including a 20-point performance against Loyola Marymount and 16 vs. Morgan State, both team highs. Vanderbilt finished the tournament in fourth place.

- The Longhorns are 6-1 on the season after defeating Texas-Arlington on Friday at the Erwin Center.
- Texas has four players averaging double figures, led by Jonathan Homes with 13.3 points per game. Also averaging double figures are Demarcus Holland (12.0), Javan Felix (10.9), and Isaiah Taylor (10.4).
- The Commodores’ starting point guard, sophomore Eric McClellan, hails from Austin, Texas (Austin High School). Freshman forward Luke Kornet is from Lantana, Texas, as is walk-on sophomore guard, Carter Josephs (San Antonio).
- Texas’ only loss of the year came at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic against BYU in Kansas City on November 25 (86-82).

Commodores Spreading the Wealth
Seven of the team’s nine scholarship players scored in double figures at the Paradise Jam, with Dai-Jon Parker and Shelby Moats the only ones not to reach double digits. So far this season, Moats is the only player that has not scored 10 points or more.
Hot Shooting
Vanderbilt is shooting 49.1% from the floor this season and has not had a game this year shooting below 45%. Two Commodores, Damian Jones (65.6%) and James Siakam (67.9%) are shooting above 65% from the floor.
