Pregame Notes
– Vanderbilt is in its 124th year of organized football.
– The Commodores wore black jerseys and pants with a gold helmets for the first time.
– Georgia won the toss and deferred to the second half.
– Attendance was 40,350, Vandy’s second sellout of the season.
– Vanderbilt captains for the game were Jordan Matthews, Andrew East, Walker May and Austyn Carta-Samuels.
– Saturday’s game marks the 74th matchup between the Commodores and Bulldogs
– Saturday’s game also marks the first time the Commodores played on CBS at Vanderbilt Stadium since 1982. The last time the ‘Dores played a game on CBS was 2001 against Tennessee in Knoxville.
Team Notes
– Vanderbilt improved to 19-53-2 all-time vs. Georgia with the Commodores’ first win vs. the Bulldogs since 2006 and first win vs. UGA in Nashville since 1991.
– The Commodores’ victory over a ranked opponent was the first for the Dores since 2008 when Vandy beat No. 13 Auburn.
– Jordan Matthews set a new career single-game best with 11 catches moving him into a tie with Kentucky’s Craig Yeast for the second-most receptions in SEC history with 208 career catches.

– Karl Butler saw action in his first game since September 14 against South Carolina
– Jordan Matthews has now recorded a reception in each of his last 28 games, dating back to 2011
– Jordan Matthews’ fourth catch in the first quarter put him alone in second-place in the Vanderbilt career records
– Jerron Seymour’s TD run was his seventh rushing touchdown of the season. He has rushed for a TD in six of the teams seven games.
– Trent Pruitt picked up his first career reception on his 15-yard grab in the second quarter
– Jordan Cunningham picked up his first reception in two games and first against an SEC opponent with his eight-yard catch at the end of the second quarter
– Kenny Ladler forced his second fumble in two games
– Torren McGaster picked up his first career fumble recovery off a muffed punt in the third quarter

– Jordan Matthews set a new career single-game best with 11 catches to move into a tie for second all-time in SEC history with 208 receptions. Matthews’ 89 yards receiving moved him into second place in SEC history in receiving yards with 3,080 – 13 yards behind leader Georgia’s Terrence Edwards.
– Patton Robinette’s two-yard TD rush was his second of the season.
– Jerron Seymour matched a career and season-best with two rushing touchdowns, doing it for the second time in three games.
– Darreon Herring led the team with a career-best 10 tackles.
Offensive Notes
– Jerron Seymour’s four-yard TD run was the Commodores’ first, first-quarter touchdown against an SEC team this season
– Patton Robinette made is fourth appearance under center for the ‘Dores at 5:03 in the second quarter
– Vandy’s 187 first half yards were the second-most this season. The Commodores put up 226 first half yards in the season opener against Ole Miss
– The Commodores outgained Georgia 243-217, marking the first time this season the Dores have outgained a SEC opponent.
Defensive Notes
– Vandy forced its first turnover of the game at the end of the third quarter. It was the first Commodore takeaway against an SEC team since Steven Clarke’s 69-yard interception against South Carolina.
– The Dores’ defense held Georgia to 221 yards, the fewest yards gained by the Bulldogs this season. UGA’s previous season low was 434 yards.
– Georgia QB Aaron Murray was held to a season low 114 yards, the fewest yards he had thrown for in a game since the South Carolina game last year when he passed for 109 yards.
Special Teams Notes
– Vanderbilt scored its second TD of the game on a three-yard fake FG rush from Carey Spear.
– Carey Spear nailed his fifth field goal of the season with a 40-yard effort in the fourth quarter.
