ITA Women’s All-American Championships Selections | Division I Preseason Rankings
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the selections for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship and the Division I preseason rankings. A number of Vanderbilt women’s tennis players have been selected for the championship, while only three have been named in the preseason rankings.
Senior Lauren Mira headlines the selections for the Commodores. She enters her final season ranked 51st in the country in singles play. Georgina Sellyn begins the year ranked No. 71 in singles, while the duo of Mira and Courtney Colton start the year as the sixth-ranked doubles team.
Colton and Mira have been selected for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship doubles main draw after competing in the NCAA doubles championships last season. Both were also chosen to participate in the singles qualifying draws.
Sellyn was selected for the singles pre-qualifying draw, with both Marie Casares and Frances Altick chosen as alternates.
Casares along with teammate Ashleigh Antal were selected as doubles pre-qualifying alternates.
The Commodores kick off the 2013 fall season with a trip to Greenville, S.C., for the Furman Fall Classic beginning on September 27.
