This group of enlightened readers knows better but can I take a second and remind others not to believe everything they see and read on the Internet? Thank you. Anyone can write a bogus blog claiming expertise on a given subject or post a tasteless video professing to represent an organization. However, I am always astounded when seemingly smart people over react to such tasteless garbage because it fits into stereotypes they hold.
OK, OK, I get it. Our five favorite states are apparently not the hub of Commodore Nation. But does anyone know people who live in New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Alaska and Idaho? How about making a token contribution to the NCC in their name so we can have members in all 50 states? It could start to snowball from there and it might get YOUR name in Quick Slant to be read by my mom and Slant’s four other readers!
