Cross Country is unlike any other sport in many ways. In most sports athletes report to training camp to get into shape for the upcoming season but in the land of running any athlete that shows up to camp looking to get into shape will be left behind… literally.
For the fifth straight year, the Vanderbilt men’s and women’s cross country team took to the road for team camp. This year Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, Tenn. hosted the three-day team building event. The Dores spent the three days running, building team chemistry, running some more and eating s’mores (more to come on that later).
In this first installment, the Commodores get down to business on the roads of Fall Creek falls.
Vanderbilt opens the cross country season on Friday, August 30 at Percy Warner Park in the Belmont Opener.
