It’s another busy weekend for Vanderbilt’s athletic teams. Vanderbilt’s track & field team will host the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday and Saturday on campus and the women’s lacrosse team faces North Carolina at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex at noon Saturday.
Away from home, Vanderbilt’s golf and tennis teams are in action at the SEC Championships and the baseball team opens a three-game series at Georgia Friday.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams each won opening matches Thursday and are back in action Friday afternoon. The seventh-seeded men’s team defeated Auburn, 4-1, Thursday and play second-seeded Tennessee in the SEC quarterfinals at noon Friday in Oxford, Miss.
The sixth-seeded women’s tennis team defeated LSU, 4-0, Thursday and will play third-seeded Florida at 5 p.m. Friday in Starkville, Miss.
Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team begins play at the SEC Championships Friday in St. Simons Island, Ga. The women’s golf team also begins play at the SEC Championships Friday in Birmingham, Ala.
The baseball team will play at Georgia at 6 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be on 560 AM in Nashville. Saturday’s game will be televised by CSS.
