HIT PARADE
The Vanderbilt offense has been pounding out hits over the team’s last six games collecting at least 10 hits in five of the six games. The Dores have 72 hits (12 per game) in the last six games and matched the team’s season-best in last Sunday’s win at Ole Miss with 17. In Vandy’s previous seven games the team had posted just one double digit hit total (15 vs. Florida March 23).

TAKING BASES
The Dores have been aggressive on the base paths this season, taking extra bases and stealing 80 bases in the team’s 34 games for an average of 2.35 steals per game. If the Commodores continue that pace the squad will steal nearly 132 bases this season. No Vanderbilt team has stolen more than 95 bases under Coach Corbin and a Vandy team has not passed the 100-steal mark since 1994 when the team swiped 104 bags. The 1989 team holds the record for most steals in a season with 182 stolen bases.

FREE PASSES TO NOWHERE
Sophomore Tyler Beede has struggled with command this season. However, the right-hander’s walks have not come back to haunt him in a huge way. Of Beede’s 36 walks this season, he has only allowed three to score and has not allowed more than one to score in any of his eight starts.

WARM OR COLD NOT AFFECTING DORES’ BATS
Vanderbilt has played 16 of the team’s 34 games in 50-plus degree weather this season, hitting .301 (159-for-529) while scoring 6.4 runs per game. In the Dores’ 18 games in weather of 49 degrees or less the team is hitting .294 (167-for-569) while scoring 7.4 runs per game.

TAKING ON THE TIGERS
Vanderbilt takes on Missouri for the first time this weekend. The two schools have never faced off on the diamond but with the Tigers move to the Southeastern Conference, this will be the first of an annual meeting.

FOOD DRIVE THIS WEEKEND
The Commodores will hold their annual Food Drive this weekend to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. The most needed items are peanut butter, canned meat (chicken/tuna), canned fruit and vegetables, soups and stews, pasta and cereal. Dented cans (especially on the top or bottom of the can) and any expired cans will not be accepted (or rather we have to discard).
