The Vanderbilt men’s golf team will compete in the 34th Annual Schenkel Invitational this Friday through Sunday at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. The event is hosted by Georgia Southern University.
“The Schenkel is a truly an awesome tournament and we are excited to have the opportunity to play,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “As a group, we have to continue to have the right focus on the right things. The guys have done a great job of demanding more from themselves and from each other, so that is very exciting for me.”
The Commodores will send juniors Charlie Ewing and Mills Rendell, and sophomores Ben Fogler, Jordan Janico, and Hunter Stewart to compete in the event. Stewart is coming off of his first individual collegiate title last week at the Samford Intercollegiate in Hoover, Ala.
Vanderbilt will compete against Alabama, UAB, UCF, Charleston, Florida, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Florida, North Texas, Notre Dame, Texas, and Virginia.
The Forest Heights Country Club will be set up as a par-72, 6,962-yard format for the weekend.
Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the weekend, with 18 holes being played Friday through Sunday.
