The Commodore women’s golf team travels to Augusta, Ga., to take part in the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate this weekend at the Forest Hills Golf Club with 17 other teams. Play begins on Friday morning.
Vanderbilt, ranked number nine in the country and coming off of back-to-back second-place finishes in their first two spring events of 2013, will compete with host Augusta State, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Illinois, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Lamar, Maryland, Memphis, Notre Dame, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Texas, and UT San Antonio. There are six ranked teams in the event, with the Commodores coming in as the highest ranked squad.
The Commodores will send senior Lauren Stratton, junior Rene Sobolewski, sophomores Irina Gabasa and Kendall Martindale, and freshman Jenny Hahn as their starting five players, with freshman Morgan Ransom playing as an individual.
The tournament will be played at the par 72, 6,214-yard Forest Hills Golf Club.
Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the weekend, with 18 holes being played Friday through Sunday.
