Vanderbilt’s women’s basketball team will be the No. 7 seed in the 2013 SEC Tournament March 6-10 in Duluth, Ga. The Commodores will open the tournament at 5 p.m. CT Thursday against 10th-seeded Missouri. The game will be televised by SportSouth and played at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
The winner of the Vanderbilt-Missouri game will face No. 2-seed Kentucky at 5 p.m. Friday. Vanderbilt defeated Missouri, 62-46, on Feb. 14 at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt lost, 75-53, at home against Kentucky on Feb. 10.
Tennessee won the regular season title and is the No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament. Georgia is the No. 3 seed and Texas A&M is the No. 4 seed. The top four seeds receive byes until the quarterfinals Friday.
Ole Miss is ineligible for postseason play, so there will be just one opening game Wednesday with 12th-seeded Mississippi State playing 13th-seeded Alabama at 6 p.m.
