Starters: Kevin Bright, Kedren Johnson, Shelby Moats, Dai-Jon Parker and Rod Odom. This was the first time the Commodores have used this starting lineup this season, and it was the eighth total lineup.
The win makes Vanderbilt 2-0 all-time versus Texas A&M. Head Coach Kevin Stallings is 1-0 all-time versus the Aggies. Stallings is now 271-173 at Vanderbilt and 394-236 overall.
Vanderbilt made a three-pointer for the 856th game in a row, which ranks second in the nation behind UNLV. VU has made a three in every game since the line’s inception in the 1986-87 season.
Three Commodores scored in double-figures, which marks the 11th time this season that has occurred.
Rod Odom scored a game-high 19 points, marking the 10th time this season he has scored in double-figures. He has scored 10 or more in three of the last four games.
Odom also dished out a career-high four assists and tied his career-high in three-pointers made (4) and attempted (9).
Odom’s seven rebounds tied a season-high. He also pulled down seven boards versus Cornell and Nicholls State.
Dai-Jon Parker scored a career-high 17 points on a career-high six made field goals. Parker also recorded a career-high five made three-pointers.
Kyle Fuller tied a career-high with six assists.
Vanderbilt’s bench outscored Texas A&M’s, 20-7.
The Commodores shot 45.8 percent compared to Texas A&M’s 44.2 percent. Vanderbilt is 8-2 this season when outshooting its opponent.
Vanderbilt led 25-21 at the half, and the Commodores are now 9-2 when leading at the half.
Texas A&M outrebounded Vanderbilt, 32-31, and outscored the Commodores, 15-3, in second chance points.
Josh Henderson scored in double figures with 11 points, his fifth double-digit game of the season and sixth of his career. The Commodores are 4-1 this year when he scores 10 or more points, and 5-1 in his career.
