VU hosts UALR in season finale

NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt will host Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday, Feb. 2, in the regular season finale for the Commodore swimming team at the Centennial Sportsplex. The meet begins at 1 p.m. and admission is free.

It marks the final home meet for the six Vanderbilt seniors: Erika Deardorf, Jess Eccher, Betsy Galenti, Sarah 8527980.jpegLynch, Chelsea Morey and Amy Salce. Vanderbilt held its Senior Day versus Evansville, Jan. 12.

Last Time in the Pool

Vanderbilt (2-5, 0-3) is coming off its final SEC dual meet of the 2012-13 season. The Commodores fell at No. 12 Tennessee, 155-86, Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Knoxville, Tenn. As a team, Vanderbilt recorded three wins against one of the top teams in the SEC. The Commodores started the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.36. Chrissy Oberg, Elly Faulkner, Lauren Torres and Caroline Thomas combined to record the win. Torres then picked up the first individual win in the 200 butterfly. Her time of 2:04.37 was enough to edge out two Lady Vols. Faulkner registered her third individual win in her last two meets with a win in the 200 yard breaststroke. She won the race with a time of 2:22.63.

About Arkansas-Little Rock

The Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans venture to West End with a record of 3-2. All three wins have come in the past three meets versus Rhodes College, Hendrix College and Henderson State. Last season the Commodores came away with a 113-107 victory in Little Rock.
