Vanderbilt’s men’s basketball team will hit the road for their second true road contest of the season when the Commodores travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, to take on Xavier at the Musketeers’ Cintas Center. Tip time is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, and the game will air live on television on ESPNU and on the radio on the Vanderbilt IMG College Radio Network in the middle Tennessee area and online at vucommodores.com.

The game will be the last for Vanderbilt until December 15 due to final exams.

The Musketeers have won all five of the previous meetings, including an 82-70 overtime win a year ago at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt’s last trip to Xavier came in the 1947-48 season, a game the Musketeers won, 79-42.

Kedren Johnson Leads ‘Dores

Commodore leading scorer, Kedren Johnson leads the team with a 16.7 ppg average. The sophomore point guard, who scored 28 points against Davidson on Nov. 22, 21 of which came in the second half, has scored in double figures in five of five games this season, and leads the SEC in minutes played (36.5).

Freshman Kevin Bright Catching On

The freshman from Mannheim, Germany has started all six games, and recently.tallied his first double-double vs. Villanova (12/1) with 12 points and 12 rebounds. For the season, he is shooting 60% from three (9-15), and he leads the team in rebounding (7.2 per game).

The Commodores are 21-18 against current members of the Atlantic 10. Vanderbilt will also play Atlantic 10 member Butler on December 29 at Memorial Gym.
