Where is Zac Stacy in the record book coming into the Auburn game? Total rushing yds, rushing tds.

Zac needs 132 yards to pass Frank Mordica as Vanderbilt’s career rushing leader. I know it’s not heavy on his mind, but I’m sure it would be an extra thrill to break the record against one of his home state schools. Zac currently has 24 rushing touchdowns. The school record is 26 held by Dean Davidson, dating back to 1947-1950.
Joe, Vandy really needs to stay on track and win the “easy” games to make a bowl game. Do you think the players have this in the back of their mind?

No, Ben, I don’t think the team looks at any game as “easy”. I think this team and the staff have done an excellent job of sticking to that old mantra “one game at a time.” I know the team doesn’t talk publicly about their goals, but I’m sure one of them is to make sure we play in postseason again this year.I don’t think you’ll hear any talk about anything being on their mind other than their next opponent, and that’s as it should be.
Joe, 2 questions…
Is there any way to sync your voice to the T.V. telecast? We like listening to you, but the T.V. is so far behind. We were wondering if we could delay it on XM or Sirius.

It has become one of the challenges of broadcast radio and T.V. There are so many systems, so many delays. T.V. can be as much as 15 seconds behind the regular action because of HD, processing and the like. My only suggestion would be that there are companies you can research on the Internet that produce products that can sync up the broadcasts. I do hope you can attend our home games, where you can hear the broadcast live and in real time on 92.5 FM inside the stadium.

My question is, why doesn’t the scoreboard operator do more to get fans involved in the game? The USC game was great as far as using lots of videos to get the fans into it – Florida, not so much. Several fans seem to need instruction on when to stand and get loud (i.e. when we’re on defense) and when to sit and be quiet (i.e. when we’re on offense), and I can’t think of a better way to accomplish that than to use our nice, new scoreboard!

Thanks for the comments on the transmitter. I hope it’s a great service for our fans. As for the video board, it has already added a great deal to the game experience. I think many fans like you are also realizing the impact they can have in providing a home-field advantage for us. There are a number of in-game encouragements that I think you’ll see continue to help our fans and our team make Vanderbilt Stadium the best it can be.
Hey Joe, will we see Warren Norman return any kicks this year? It seems that there has been no excitement yet on the kickoffs? Where is Warren Norman?

Warren was actually back on one of our returns against Florida, but I believe the coaching staff is comfortable with freshman Brian Kimbrow and Andre Hal as the primary kickoff return men. It’s my opinion that the excitement of the kickoff return has been diluted by the new rules, which were designed to protect player safety. Teams with a bona fide kickoff return threat are in many ways nullified if you have a kicker who can put the ball into the end zone.
