BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Vanderbilt women’s soccer team will close its 2012 non-conference schedule with a quick trip up I-65 to face Western Kentucky at the WKU Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT.

The Commodores are looking to get back to .500 after a pair of heartbreaking losses at home over the past week. On Sunday, Gonzaga snuck away with a 1-0 victory despite being outshot 11-6. Then on Thursday against Memphis, the Commodores lost a 1-0 lead with less than three minutes left in regulation before being defeated by a deflection off the cross bar in the second overtime period.
Statistically, Vanderbilt has been led by freshman Cheyna Williams. The Lovejoy, Ga., native has contributed points to four of Vanderbilt’s last five games. She leads with the team with three goals and two assists this season.
Western Kentucky enters Sunday’s matchup with a 4-2 record. The Lady Toppers had a three-game winning streak snapped on Monday at Minnesota.
Vanderbilt holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against Western Kentucky, including a 2-0 victory in Nashville last season.
